Begin with a complimentary crafted cocktail before following a hidden path through the bush at dusk to a private, off-grid location. Be welcomed by a glowing campfire and a beautifully set long table beneath the open sky — no electricity, no distractions, just birdsong, firelight and the night sky.
Sip whiskey by the fire, connect with fellow guests, or chat with the chefs as they share BBQ techniques, meat cuts and the secrets behind bold, flavour-driven cooking.
Enjoy an exclusive four-course menu, with each dish prepared over live coals and open flames, delivering rich, authentic smokiness in every bite. The Big Smoke BBQ Company are renowned for their passion for true BBQ flavour, and for one night only, they’re bringing it to life with a menu served straight from the fire. The menu celebrates bold, fire-driven flavours, featuring everything from smoked sausages, bacon and salmon to charcoal-kissed lamb and slow-roasted porchetta, all cooked over flame and coals.
A curated whiskey pairing (four tastings) is included, with additional wine, beer and cocktails available to purchase throughout the evening.

This event is part of the Flavours of Plenty Festival, an annual celebration of the Coastal Bay of Plenty’s vibrant food scene. The festival runs from 16 April to 3 May 2026.
