Etran de L'AïrEtran de L’Aïr (or “stars of the Aïr region”) began life as a wedding band in Niger in the ‘90s. Their hypnotic riffs and sun-tinged harmonies quickly caught the attention of Portland record label, Sahel Sounds. The band has since dropped three studio albums, singing entirely in Tamasheq and bringing pan-African blues rock flavour to the masses.
Pastel Blank
Art-rock and funk join hands in a marriage of stutter and groove, officiated by Pastel Blank. The Montreal‑based project, led by singer‑songwriter Angus Watt, pulls influence from the genre-blending curiosity of Talking Heads and the interlocking guitar work of post‑punk luminaries Women. Get ready to groove and lose your footing in the best way.
Pesewa
Owing his experimental Ghanaian folk sound to a rich musical inheritance and an ear for Afro-futurism, Pesewa synthesizes a deeply-rooted yet original sound. Blending the traditional stringed kologo and seperewa with wind instruments, electronic ambience, drum machines and vocals, his improvisational live sets inspire both movement and contemplation.
Ginger Beef
A dynamic husband-and-wife collaboration featuring virtuosic flutist Jiajia Li and veteran producer/multi-instrumentalist Warren Tse (AKA MSG), Ginger Beef is a gleaming pop artifact which balances dazzling instrumental performances and catchy melodies with deep grooves. Start with their self-titled debut album, which earned them a JUNO nomination in 2025.
