Tenzin Gawa (JASON SIMARD)
Tenzin Gawa (Jason) is the main teacher of the Paramita Center in Montreal and Toronto. He took monk vows in 2010 from the Tibetan Master Geshe Dawa in India and received the monastic ordination from H.H. Dalai Lama in 2014 and complete ordination in February 2018 in Dharamsala also with His Holiness. Since 2000, Jason has been interested in the Buddha's teaching and met his first teacher, the Tibetan Buddhist Master Lama Samten, in 2002. He studied and trained with him since this time. Jason started to teach in 2006 and since this time travels in different parts of the world to share this ancient wisdom. He also leads pilgrimages and retreats in India since 2004.
*Jason teaches and explains in a simple, clear and humorous way that everyone appreciates a lot, beginners as well as advanced practionners. The important thing, however, is to well understand in order to develop the positive fire of our motivation, because our project of finding peace of mind and inner happiness is something precious to all of us !

The Retreat
The teachings are following the same tradition as H.H. Dalaï-Lama on how to attain calm-abiding mind according to Buddhist philosophy teachings. It is well known that the primary purpose of the Buddha's teaching is to attain happiness of enlightenment by practicing two forms of meditation : concentration meditation and analytical meditation. The first aims at achieving calm-abiding (samatha), while the second aims to gaining special insight (vipashyana).
Our calm-abiding meditation sessions are meant for beginners as well as for more advanced meditators. Although our groups are mostly made up of first-time meditators, there are also those who have already practiced meditation and are seeking another technique. There are as well those who wish to take the course for the second or third time in order to improve their meditative skills. In this retreat are given all the fundamental elements necessary to attain calm-abiding according to Buddha's teachings : the preparations, the posture, the necessary conditions, the hindrances and how to overcome them, etc.
Spots are limited, so book early to guarantee yours. We will take approximatively 1 hour for lunch time.
The contribution for the retreat: 75$
Because we limit the number of the participants so we will not be able to make refunds if you like to cancel only 10 days before the event.
