Slam Theatre

*Slam Theatre is a great outdoor American variety show premiering during This Is America art exhibit at Boston City Hall. On Thurs. July 11th at 6PM outside Boston City Hall come experience a multidisciplinary theatrical performance featuring several 10-minute play performances, written by up and coming Boston playwrights Fabiola Decius and Monica Jimenez. A 10-minute multi media dance performance by artist Flor Delgadillo. During and in between the plays, some of Massachusetts' finest spoken word poets will recite poems and short stories, accompanied by live improvisational jazz by The Blake Newman Group. Themes of the evening will touch upon love, friendship, what does it mean to be American and more. You do not want to miss a second of this FIRST TIME EVER experimental multidisciplinary art event!

• When I Grow Up by Fabiola R. Decius and performed by Zahirah Truth as SHANIECE and Debra Wise as MS. WHITE

• Blah Blah Woof Woof by Monica Jimenez and performed by Karla Lang as Mira and Tony SooHoo as Tarso

• FALLING THROUGH THE AIR by Monica Jimenez and performed by Darline Harris as Belinda and Stephen Spencer as Jonah

• 10 minute multimedia dance performance by Flor Delgadillo.
• Spoken Word performed by Jarvis Subia, Cole Rodriguez and more!
• Live interactive art piece by Fernando Fula
• Live improv musical scoring by The Blake Newman Group
• Hosted by Jamaal Eversley as Uncle Jam

*Slam Theatre is a pay what you can event starting at $0. All proceeds will be split amongst all of the performers in the show that night! Thank you in advance for your support and generous donation.
