Instructor - Barbara Marder
Barbara Marder Is a formally trained painter who specializes in watercolor. She has a bachelors degree from Skidmore College and an MFA from Boston University. She is a retired Visual Arts Teacher in K-12 public schools, and has taught private sessions. Her work has been displayed at many venues. Her teaching goal is to have each participant learn basic elements of watercolor, and then apply them to their own expression.
Class Description
Watercolor offers immediate and satisfying creative results. This workshop will explore the basics of the medium but is also open to those with experience. After introductory exercises, participants will be encouraged to seek their own direction. Barbara Marder is an experienced watercolorist, has an MFA from Boston University, and has been a member of Artisans Asylum since 2012.
If you already have supplies on hand, just bring those with you.
Material Fee
The materials fee for this class is $5. This is separate from the ticket price and is to reimburse the instructor for any tools or materials used in this class. This will be paid once, directly to the instructor at the start of the first class meeting. This instructor accepts payments in cash.

Students Should Bring
Bring watercolor supplies if you have them.
Otherwise, a list of supplies available on Amazon will be emailed to each participant including paint, brushes, and watercolor paper.
In addition, bring a pencil, a water container, a one inch roll of painters masking tape, and a white or kneaded eraser.
Prerequisites
Students must be 16 years old or older. All students under 18 must be accompanied by and under the direct supervision of a responsible adult.
