After a few months break, Solouk is thrilled to be back at the beautiful surrounds of Port Beach Brewery to celebrate its 6th orbit around the sun!We are excited to celebrate this special occasion by welcoming one of our favourite producers to our shores: KORA
Kora is a music composer and performer from Montreal, Canada. His sound blends world music with signature strands of deep and progressive house. He is a classically trained piano player and a skilled drummer. He has performed over 100 shows in 25+ countries, including at world renowned events such as Tomorrowland, Burning Man, Amsterdam Dance Event and Piknic Electronik. His music has been streamed over 15 million times across the likes of Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud and YouTube. His music has received continued support from industry heavyweights such as Lee Burridge, John Digweed, Above&Beyond and Hernan Cattaneo.His sumptuous sounds have taken him around the world.
Following his debut tour of India in September 2018, Kora launched his very own label, Saisons, with opening releases from David Orin and Wuachuma. The Montreal-based label operates with a core focus of furthering the fight against climate change through art. Kora took control of the reins at Saisons on December 10th, 2018 with the release of his very first track on the label, Hydrant.
Kora finished 2020 with yet another unforgettable moment, coming together with eminent world musician Mercan Dede for a remix on his original song ‘Kapadokya’. The intricate rework saw two closely aligned worlds collide with Kora fusing over two decades of creative work from Mercan Dede in traditional acoustic Turkish and other oriental musics with his signature electronic touch.
During recent years, Kora has expanded his unique sounds leading to northworthy collaborations. In 2024, Kora teamed up with the well-known musician and healer, Poranguí, on Sol Creation Records.The result was the creation of Oxum, A los Antiguos, and Antigua.
