Det er især en akustisk lyd, der kendetegner Six Organs of Admittance. I tidens løb er han blevet associeret med både Devandra Banhart og Joanna Newsom, men den fingerspillende, eksperimenterende sangskriver og guitarist fra USA trækker også på helt andre referencer end folk og americana. I over tyve år har Ben Chasny udgivet musik som Six Organs of Admittance, og i de år har hans lyd spændt fra det tyste og akustikke, til det droneagtigte og over i det helt meditative og mystiske.
Six Organs of Admittance er på tour med sine to seneste albummer. ‘Time is Glass’, det ene af de to, udkom i april sidste år, og er et resultat af Ben Chasnys tilbagevenden til staten North Carolina, hvor han er vokset op. På pladen, som har fået de ret skønne genre-betegnelser “rural-industrial-psych” og “ecosystem goth”, formår han at skabe poesi med enkle virkemidler. Over the years, Ben Chasny, who is the musician behind Six Organs of Admittance, has been linked to both Devendra Banhart and Joanna Newsom. Yet the fingerpicking experimental songwriter and guitarist from the U.S. also pulls from references far beyond folk and americana. For twenty years, Ben Chasny has released music under the name Six Organs of Admittance, and in that time, his sound has spanned from being hushed and acoustic to droning, meditative, and deeply mysterious.
Six Organs of Admittance is currently on tour with his two latest albums. ‘Time is Glass’, one of the two, was released in April last year and is the result of Chasny’s return to his home state of North Carolina. The album, which has been given the wonderfully evocative genre labels “rural-industrial-psych” and “ecosystem goth,” demonstrates his ability to create poetry with simple means.
