19th Annual Sisters in Spirit Vigil – Sikoohkotoki - LethbridgeSaturday, October 4, 2025

October 4th is a day to honour the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, Two Spirit, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ People. Together, we support families who have been tragically touched by the loss of a loved one to violence.
Program Schedule:
6:30 PM – March from Lethbridge City Hall to Galt Gardens
7:00 PM – Sisters in Spirit Vigil at Galt Gardens
8:00 PM – Program Concludes

The vigil will be live streamed on social media for those who cannot attend in person. If you’re unable to join us, we invite you to hang a red dress or light a candle in your window in solidarity.
Bring blankets and chairs as the evening may be chilly. You are welcome to bring pictures of loved ones who have been affected by violence. Posters can also be made on your behalf—please email [email protected] by September 29, 2025 for more information.

Why We Gather
Each year on October 4th, family members and community members gather across the country to honour MMIWG2S and provide a healing space for those impacted by violence. Together, we affirm that MMIWG2S+ people’s lives are valued, loved, and never forgotten.
Your participation is powerful. By attending or supporting a Sisters in Spirit Vigil, you are part of a movement that puts pressure on governments and society to recognize that this crisis must end.
