About this Event

This month, we're bringing you a French comedy that's as funny as it is powerful, released in 2024! Catch the screening at The Movie Mill cinema in Lethbridge on Saturday 4 October at 6pm.

📖 Synopsis:

In Paimpont, a quiet village in Brittany, everyone gets along well: Joëlle, Anne, Hervé, Johnny... When the idea of welcoming Ukrainian refugees is proposed, the residents vote enthusiastically in favour. But in the end, it is Syrian refugees who arrive. And then some people start to see things differently. Between discomfort, absurd situations and bursts of solidarity, Les Barbares paints a tender and satirical portrait of rural France faced with otherness.

Et là, certains commencent à voir les choses autrement. Entre malaises, situations absurdes et élans de solidarité, Les Barbares brosse un portrait tendre et satirique de la France rurale face à l’altérité.
