SISTERS' EASTER IN THE PARK 2026: LOVE THY NEIGHBOR

“Love Thy Neighbor” is the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence’s invitation to rise above hate and fear to celebrate our shared humanity.
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, San Francisco’s revered and irreverent Order of queer and trans nuns, are delighted to invite neighbors across the Bay Area to their Annual Easter Celebration, “Easter in the Park: Love Thy Neighbor,” on Sunday, April 5, 2026, on the north end of Mission Dolores Park near the tennis courts. Festivities begin with Children’s Easter at 10:00 AM, followed by the main stage celebration from Noon to 4:00 PM.
“Love Thy Neighbor” — Celebrating Our Shared Humanity
This year’s theme, “Love Thy Neighbor,” is a joy-fueled reminder that our neighbors are not “others” — they are family. In a time when neighborhoods are being divided by fear and misinformation, the Sisters are calling communities back to the radical idea of love — showing up for one another, regardless of our differences. This is exactly what the Sisters’ mission has always stood for — universal joy, acceptance, and unapologetic solidarity with targeted communities.
Easter in the Park kicks off with Children’s Easter at 10:00 AM and includes family-friendly programming such as an Easter egg hunt, photos with the Easter Bunny, and games. Children’s Easter takes place on the east side of the park’s north field — near the corner of 18th and Dolores.
Beginning at Noon, the park becomes a San Francisco spectacle of outrageous joy and sacred nonsense — culminating in the legendary contests: Easter Bonnet, Foxy Mary, and Hunky Jesus. Hosted by emcees Sister Roma, Peaches Christ, and Honey Mahogany the celebration features live entertainment, drag artists, miracles and Sisterly mischief. Featured artists include internationally renowned drag queen Christian recording artist Flamy Grant, San Francisco’s Drag Laureate Per Sia, Bay Area King Papi Churro, activists and entertainers Xochitl, Grace Towers, KaiKai Bee Michaels, and powerhouse vocalist Alotta Boutte.
Parents’ note: While nudity and profanity are prohibited, the latter portion of the day is more adult-oriented, and the Sisters’ trademark irreverence may be inappropriate for young children.
The contests are open to all. When contests are announced from the stage, contestants should line up backstage near the tennis courts, where contestant wranglers will greet them. Due to time and stage constraints, there is an initial screening process, and finalists will be invited onstage for audience judging. Groups are discouraged, and only one person per entry will be allowed onstage for judging. Visit the Sisters website for more information: www.thesisters.org.
The Sisters Annual Easter Celebration is a free event open to all. Each year the Sisters collect donations to help cover event expenses and to support the Sisters’ community work and grants. Contributions help offset the cost of producing this 10,000-person block party, ensuring that Easter in the Park remains radically free and accessible to all. Donations also expand the grants the Sisters distribute to small, grassroots organizations caring for their neighbors year-round. Make a meaningful gift today at thesisters.org/donate-easter
The Sisters are excited to announce their partnership with Do Good Stuff — a queer-owned Bay Area event production company — to produce this year’s Annual Easter Celebration. Together, the Sisters and Do Good Stuff are strengthening the operational infrastructure required to sustain this beloved community event by enhancing digital operations, production and logistics, volunteer management, and marketing and communications — while protecting the traditions that make Easter in the Park an iconic San Francisco tradition.
“Easter in the Park: Love Thy Neighbor” is also made possible by its production partners TurnOut, San Francisco Street Fair Coalition, Recology, Green Mary, JK Sound, and Falcon | NakedSword, in cooperation with its community partners San Francisco Recreation and Parks, Love Dolores, and Civic Joy Fund.

Leave No Trace
The Sisters invite all guests to Leave No Trace in Dolores Park. It’s essential to our permit — and to bringing Easter in the Park back year after year — that we leave Mission Dolores Park in better shape than we found it, so please clean up around you, and tell your friends. That means managing your trash and packing it all out — every bit and piece — when you leave. Trash and recycling are located along the perimeter of the event — be a dear and use them.
