Sip & Sew: Sewing Skills for Real Life is a beginner-friendly sewing workshop designed to help you learn practical skills you can actually use. This isn’t about perfection or fancy projects. It’s about building confidence, learning the basics, and having fun while you do it.
During this relaxed, social workshop, you’ll learn:
- Sewing machine basics and safe operation
- How to sew straight seams and troubleshoot common issues
- Real-life skills like patching, mending, and simple repairs
- How to work with fabric scraps and upcycle what you already have
You’ll have the option to practice on provided materials or bring a small item from home you’d like to repair or improve. An experienced instructor will guide you throughout the session, offering hands-on support and encouragement.
It’s BYOB-friendly, beginner-focused, and perfect for anyone who’s been saying “I’ve always wanted to learn how to sew.”

- Snacks & beverages of your choice (BYOB encouraged for guests 21+)

About our Sip & Sew Series
Our Sip & Sew series is designed to teach and build confidence in machine sewing, while experts will enjoy the chance to connect with others in the community. Each registration includes the materials and instruction to make one project. Beverages are not provided, but registrants may bring their own. Registrants are also encouraged to bring their own sewing machines if possible. A few machines will be available for communal use if needed. Standard size 80/12 or similar cotton-friendly needle and presser foot recommended for machines.
