Simple Therapy's Grief Outdoors: Navigating Loss in the Festive Season

The Grief Walk is a gentle, therapist-led group walk designed for adults who are navigating loss and longing. Guided by a qualified therapist with over ten years of experience supporting individuals through grief and who has personal lived experience of loss. This two-hour walk offers a compassionate space to honour your person, your memories, and your emotions.

Set in the heart of December, this walk acknowledges that the festive season can often magnify feelings of sadness, loneliness, and absence. Whether your loss is recent or many years ago, whether it was a family member, friend, or someone who shaped your life in a quiet way, this space welcomes you.

Route: Hampstead Heath Circular

Meeting point: Gospel Oak Station

Time: 09:45a.m.

Walking Duration: 2-hours - However, the event is 3 hours 15 minutes to accomadate the coffee run, grief circle and toliet breaks.

Together, we’ll take time to connect with nature, share memories, and acknowledge the full spectrum of grief: the sorrow, confusion, isolation, and when it feels right, even laughter and beauty. Participants will be invited (but never required) to share reflections, engage in a short journaling exercise, and take a mindful moment to pause and breathe.

Each participant will also receive a complimentary coffee or tea from a local coffee shop before we begin the walk.

This event is open to adults aged 25 and over of all genders. It is facilitated with care, respect, and sensitivity to the unique ways we each experience grief.

Please note: This walk is distinct from Simple Therapy’s usual mindfulness and wellness walks. Conversation and reflection will centre specifically around grief, remembrance, and the experience of living with loss.
