To escape the gangsters, they disguise themselves as women and join an all-female band heading to Florida. Complications arise when Joe falls for the band’s singer, Sugar Kane, played by Marilyn Monroe, while Jerry attracts the romantic attention of a wealthy suitor. Mistaken identities, escalating farce, and razor-sharp dialogue drive the film toward one of cinema’s most famous endings. Celebrated for its daring humor and timeless performances, the film is widely regarded as one of the greatest comedies ever made. It won the Academy Award for Best Costume Design (Black-and-White) and received multiple Golden Globe Awards, including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
