About this Event
Don't miss improvisational Shakespearean jazz performed LIVE in front of three short Shakespeare films from the early 1900's including The Tempest, The Taming of the Shrew, and Romeo and Juliet.
Vocalist, Livia Gazzolo and pianist, Ben Kinsinger have come up with novel arrangements of classic songs by The Beach Boys, The Carpenters and the like incorporating piano and vocal improvisation as well as straight readings from the aforementioned plays as the films play overhead.
Each song brings you into the story being told on screen in a way that's never been done before. Join us for an enchanting evening as these two musicians bend time and shift how we experience film today.
Doors at 6pm and the one hour performance begins at 7pm. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Dorothy remains open after the show until 11pm with a late night happy hour from 10-11.
