2026 is the National Year of Reading! To celebrate this and to encourage more people to read for pleasure, we are launching our Silent Book Club at Douglas City Library!The first meeting will take place on Thursday 23rd April which is World Book Night! Please join us from 6.45pm to get a drink and get comfortable in time for #ReadingHour from 7pm – 8pm.
Moving forward our Silent Book Club will meet on the last Wednesday of the month from 6.30pm – 8pm. For those who aren’t aware of Silent Book Clubs the rules are simple, bring your own book, all formats welcome and enjoy an hour dedicated to reading. There are no assigned books.
Silent Book Club is a global community of readers, with nearly 2000 chapters in 55+ countries around the world.
