On April 16th, Siembra Connect is hosting our inaugural Siembra Social — a convite-style mixer for creators, storytellers, small business owners, and community builders in the New York area.

In Caribbean and Latin American culture, a convite is when the whole community shows up — not to be seen, but to build something together. That's the energy we're bringing to Chrome Williamsburg.

This isn't a pitch night. There's no panel, no keynote, no pressure to "work the room." It's a curated gathering with real conversation, intentional connection, and a room full of people who are building things that matter.

Siembra Social is hosted at Chrome Williamsburg which is the second location of a Puerto Rican-owned restaurant and bar franchise that started in Ozone Park, Queens, and brought its roots across the bridge to Brooklyn. Tucked into 525 Grand Street in the heart of Williamsburg's North Side,

Chrome is the kind of space that feels culturally intentional from the moment you walk in. It's not a hotel ballroom. It's not a generic event loft. It's a neighborhood spot built by and for the community — warm, alive, and rooted in the same values Siembra Connect was founded on. We're gathering in the private back room, which means the evening stays intimate. Good acoustics for real conversation. Enough space to move around, not so much that the energy gets lost. The kind of room where something actually happens.

The L to Bedford Av is the move for most people coming from Manhattan — it's the first stop out of Manhattan and about 20 minutes from Midtown along 14th Street.

Info: Arrive, settle in, and grab a drink from the cash bar. Lite bites are on us. Your name tag has a question on it — that's your first conversation starter. Use it. Open mingling.

Info: George Torres (Founder / Siembra Connect) brings the room together. A short welcome, the story behind the convite, and why this gathering matters right now.

Info: 5 community members will be selected at random to share what they're building. 3 minutes each. No pitching — just showing. This is your room. These are your people.

Info: One question asked to everyone. Answers stay in the room. This is where the gathering becomes a community.

Info: The program steps back and the connections take over. Cash bar stays open. Conversation prompt cards stay on the tables. Raffle prizes will be announced.

Info: Every attendee receives a Siembra takeaway. George closes the evening with a word on what's being planted — and a teaser for what's coming next. We will also gather for a group photo. Cash bar stays open, can stay and vibe till the bar closes.
