About this Event
Discover the creative heart of Georges River Libraries at our upcoming community exhibition at Clive James Library, running from 18 November 2024 to 18 January 2025. This showcase brings together works from a wide range of library programs, highlighting not only traditional crafts like knitting and quilting but also newer skills developed through our digital Media Lab workshops. It’s an exciting opportunity to see how our programs help community members explore and master both creative and digital technologies.
Georges River Libraries offer an extensive variety of workshops and seminars designed to inspire and engage the community. From hands-on craft sessions to digital media skills in photography, sound recording, and graphic design, there’s something for everyone. The exhibition will give you a glimpse into the learning experiences available, sparking curiosity about the diverse opportunities we provide.
This event is not just a display of completed projects—it’s an invitation to learn about the many ways Georges River Libraries can support you in developing new skills. Whether you're interested in creative arts or exploring cutting-edge technology like virtual reality and artificial intelligence, our programs are tailored to foster lifelong learning for all. Visit the exhibition to find out how you can join in and be part of this dynamic learning community.
About the Community Art Space Program:
The Dragon’s Lair Gallery and the Clive James Library and Service Centre, Kogarah, provide opportunities for new and established local artists and groups with a connection to the Georges River area to display their works in a professional gallery space. These spaces are suitable for a wide range of mediums, including sculptures, paintings, photographs, and drawings.
Exhibitors are selected through an annual proposal process that is assessed by an Exhibitions Committee. Exhibitions are selected to reflect the dynamic and innovative diversity that exists in the Georges River area.
