About this Event
Memory Lane Social Club is a place for people with dementia and their carers to make connections and enjoy themselves with others in a friendly and supportive community setting. It’s not a support group, but an opportunity to meet up with others, share a cuppa, and participate in fun guided activities. Come along, have a laugh, reminisce, and maybe make a friend.
This new social club meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 10am to 12pm at Clive James Library, Kogarah. No bookings required.
“Community cafes have been connecting Australians living with dementia and their carers since they were first introduced here in 2002. These local get-togethers provide social connection and a normal experience, reducing the isolation frequently experienced by carers and people living with dementia. The cafes have been shown to provide a major and positive impact on the quality of life of people living with dementia and their family carers. A key aim of Community Cafes is to increase the opportunity for connections with and social support for people with dementia and carers in a shared community setting”. – Dementia Australia.
