This documentary explores public mistrust in vaccines both historically and in the presence of modern pandemics. It looks at both the measles outbreaks in 2019, a result of decreasing vaccination rates in children, and the COVID-19 pandemic that followed shortly after, thereby unpacking the rise of the modern “anti-vax” movement. By contrasting perspectives from scientific experts and influential voices spreading health misinformation, the film highlights how fear, politics, and digital echo chambers contribute to the growing mistrust in vaccines. While focused primarily on the United States, the documentary also addresses parallel health conspiracy movements in parts of Europe, offering a wider international context.

Shot in the arm / Sundhedsmisinformation
