Shop Class: Learn Electronics and Solder a Playable Mini Piano
In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn the fundamentals of soldering and basic electronics by assembling a simple, functional mini piano. We’ll go over what each component does and the correct technique for good through-hole solder joints. By the end of the session, you’ll walk away with a working instrument and the confidence to continue exploring the world of electronics!
Perfect for complete beginners or anyone looking for a fun, hands-on introduction to electronics. All materials are included, and no prior experience is necessary.
The class is led by Desk Job's founder Ari Zade, a Brooklyn-based engineer and designer with a background in prototyping, fabrication, and creative technology. Ari teaches in a clear, approachable style focused on building confidence through doing.
