Hurricane Helene unleashed widespread destruction at Shiflet, causing an estimated $30,000 in infrastructure damage. Floodwaters submerged one-third of the runway for nearly a month, necessitating a complete overhaul. The hurricane also destroyed all runway lights, and damaged all structures on the field. The flood claimed 34 planes and 12 project aircraft stored in hangars, profoundly impacting the lives and legacies of those who called the airport home.

Please join us as CAN and GGMF partner to host a Fly-in for Shiflet, celebrating their comeback after Helene and kicking off a community-wide effort to raise funds, primarily for a new gazebo to replace the one destroyed in the hurricane.
