Mark your calendar for Friday, September 13, 2024 at 6:00pm and join us at the Pepin Hospitality Centre.
We will be honoring those who risk their lives to protect us all, as well as the personnel of the Sheriff’s Office for their outstanding services along with community heroes.
About us, the Sheriff’s Hispanic Advisory Council (SHAC) originated in 1981 by then Sheriff Walter Heinrich and Raymond E. Fernandez. The Council works to serve both the community and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office through a variety of services. Council members, all of whom are citizen volunteers, strive to engage in activities that promote a better understanding and trust between the two. The Council serves as a liaison between the Hispanic community and the Sheriff’s office. The Council contributes to the community through goodwill programs such as their annual Holiday Food drive to needy families and different programs that benefit underprivileged children.
The Council also provides scholarships to deserving students, some of whom face great challenges, so that they may continue their education, and our new program "Preparing our children for a Tech-focused Future" where we donate computers/laptops to students that do not have the means to purchase one. All this is possible through fundraising.
