At these sound baths, participants may sit in chairs or lie on a floor mat. In the future we hope to have more accessible options like zero-gravity chairs
What is a Sound Bath?
A Sound Bath is a sound healing experience intended for many individuals. Participants take a comfortable position, such as lying down or seated, often with a blanket or eye masks. After a few minutes of grounding, guided breathe work, the participants are “bathed in sound” by the sound practitioner. The whole experience usually lasts around an hour. Several healing instruments are used including crystal singing bowls, Himalayan singing bowls, shakers, drums, gongs, and in my case, an upright bass. The overall intention, however, remains the same; to promote relaxation and restoration to the participant’s bodies, minds and spirits.
What should I bring to a Sound Bath?
At the bare minimum, you should bring a floor mat if you intend to lie down or a cushion if you intend to sit. You can also bring a comfortable blanket, or an eye-mask for a deeper experience. Bringing a bottle of water is also recommended, as good hydration can enhance the benefits.
When should I arrive?
The sound bath starts at 4pm, but I recommend planning on arriving 10-20 minutes early to get comfortable and settled.

Train Sounds & Noise
After our first sound bath at Shelby Bottoms, we learned that train sounds occur often. In addition, we open the windows, so you may also hear sounds of children playing, people talking, and birds singing.
