- Navigation Techniques in Mountainous Terrain: Learn how to navigate in backcountry environments using maps and modern GPS devices.
- Risk Management: Gain valuable insights into assessing and managing risks in the mountains, including recognizing avalanche danger and understanding weather patterns.
- Essential Gear for Snow Safety: Explore the essential items to include in your pack for backcountry adventures. From avalanche safety equipment like beacons, probes and shovels to first aid kits and survival tools.

While this is an educational workshop, it does not act as a substitute for formal snow safety education such as an AIARE chourse.

Parking and getting to the event: there is limited paid parking downtown. Public transportation is available via TriMet.
Facility & accessibility information: Arc'teryx Portland is a single level building that is ADA accessible. Non-gendered restrooms will be available. Seating can be provided for all participants.
