Sheffield Aortic Root Surgery Wetlab and Course
Join us in person for the Sheffield Aortic Root Surgery Wetlab and Course being held at the Medical Education Centre, Northern General Hospital on Friday june 26th, 2026 and supported by Medtronic. This hands-on event, which is highly rated and in its third year, has talks by experts in the field as well as demonstrations of techniques designed to prevent patient prosthesis mismatch in surgical Aortic Valve Replacement. You will be able to practice these techniques during the wetlab. A highlight this year is a talk by Professor Vinnie Bapat from the Minneapolis Heart Institute. Vinnie designed the extremely popular and useful Valve PPM App. He will be talking on the use of CT scans to accurately size prostheses prior to surgery. He will join Mr Mario Petrou from the Brompton Hospital who is back to talk about Aortic Root Replacement using a Porcine prosthesis. Awarded 5 CPD hours by Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
