Celebrate revolutionary women leading food systems change with an evening of local fare, riveting discussions, plus Nancy Matsumoto’s book.
About this Event

Join us in conversation with Nancy Matsumoto, James Beard award-winning author, launching her new book Reaping What She Sows: How Women Are Fixing Our Broken Food System. Carole Ferrari of Motherdough Mill and Bakery and Patti Robinson of Robinson Bread will join Nancy for a discussion on women leading change by shortening local food value chains and improving regenerative food systems. These two incredible women bakers have decades of experience leading a delicious movement via Ontario whole grain baking. Panelists will discuss how this resurgence of heritage grains is improving planetary and human health through improved nutrient density and strengthening our local ecosystems and economies.

This captivating evening will include a beautifully curated menu of regeneratively grown, local tastes and beverages, showcasing women Ontario makers and producers, as well as plenty of time for regenerative networking. Books will be available for purchase or in a ticketed bundle, and Nancy will be available for signing towards the end of our evening together.

Hosted by the Canadian Centre for Food and Ecology and co-presented by CSI and Karma Co-op, this celebration of women revitalizing local food economies is put together by Kim Montgomery of Montgomery’s restaurant and hosted in the CCFE Solutions Salon in Suite 501 at the Centre for Social Innovation, Toronto’s hub for social innovation, co-creation and community space.
