This first of its kind exhibition of self-portraiture by 65 Colorado women visual artists celebrates the breadth and depth of women’s experience and expression of their lives.
The call was for artwork by Colorado women artists in any style and most media, that represented something about themselves.
The work that was invited spans traditional representations, scenes from life, abstract forms, conceptual ideas, and completely non-representational themes created in painting, sculpture, ceramic, printmaking, glass, multi-media, collage, assemblage, bookmaking, and more.
Although not comprehensive, this exhibition is a window into the unique ways in which women see themselves, express their experience and tell their stories in art.
