Connect with others through shared reading of great texts in a warm welcoming space. No need to read or prepare in advance!
About this Event

Shared Reading by The Reader, a national charity, is a unique experience that helps thousands of people to connect, feel good and live well.

Connect with others through a unique shared reading format. We look at a short story or poem together in a relaxed, welcoming environment – no need to read or prepare in advance. Drop-in welcomed!

"I have been coming to the meetings for a few weeks now and have loved the experience. It is such a delight and privilege to sit down with no agenda, no previous expectation other than a total openness to the text in front of me. And what texts these have been! A collection of truly wonderful writing which reverberate with me for the rest of the week. I am an avid reader but this is different. It is about a shared experience; something magical happens when a story is ‘consumed’ in connection with others. There is a different kind of understanding, a communal and expanded conscientiousness perhaps. "

"Shared Reading is like entering a big house and together you start opening different doors, and by going into each and every room you learn so many new things within just an hour. It’s a fantastic experience."
