About this Event
Shaping tomorrow together - Phase 2 - Climate Risks and Adaptation
Join us for a practical and inspiring Transport Day at Parkfield, a chance to explore how we move through the world, and how we can do it in ways that are healthier, lower-impact, and more connected.
This session continues our shared journey of co-creating a permaculture plan for Parkfield as a future eco hub, with a focus on transport and travel.
Together, we’ll explore both the big picture and the practical skills by asking: how do we arrive here? How could we move differently? What would a low-impact, connected transport system look like?
Throughout the day, you can:
· 🥤 Meet our very own Bike Mayor and hop on the smoothie bike - blend your own drink and feel energy in action
· 🚲 Build confidence with bike maintenance and safety - simple, practical skills to keep you moving
· 🚶♀️ Explore walking, buses, and trains as realistic, everyday alternatives to car travel
· ✨ Create your own reflective tags to stay visible and safe on the road
· 🌀 Discover permaculture tools like desire lines and input–output analysis
· 💡 Share ideas and co-create lower-carbon, community transport solutions
· 🎲 Join in with interactive games and climate conversations
· 🌳 Slow down with nature connection and gentle reflection
Rooted in permaculture thinking, this day invites us to see transport not just as getting from A to B, but as part of a wider system, one that can either deplete or regenerate.
Come for the whole day or drop into what calls you, and be part of shaping a future where how we move supports both people and planet.
Check back for the days timetable, which will be coming soon...
