Shanty Folk - an evening with Loughborough Male Voice Choir

Sea Shanties are traditional songs, sung by sailors and fishermen, dating back to the 16th Century. The regular heavy rhythms helped sailors hall ropes, raise sales and relieved the boredom of long reparative tasks.
With enduring themes of love, camaraderie and grief these chants have been passed down from generation to generation and have become interwoven with coastal and nautical life.
Join us from 7.30pm on the 21st of March to enjoy and evening with members of the Loughborough Male Voice Choir performing as Shanty Folk.
Clap, tap and sing along to this rousing call and response music in the delightfully vintage Flintham Village Hall.
Put on your thickest cable knit jumper, polish your peg leg, wash your eye patch and stoke your clay pipe and we'll crack the grog and pick the weevil's out of the biscuits ...
