About The Turtle Creek Chorale and the Gala Chorus Festival

Their Mission:

To Educate , Entertain, Unite and Inspire

In their own words...

In 1980, 30 men stood on stage and sang at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Now known as Turtle Creek Chorale (TCC), that small group has grown to more than 250 dues-paying members who contribute over 100,000 hours annually to rehearsals, performances, community outreach, and educational workshops.

As the most recorded male chorus in the world, TCC has provided musical journeys to audiences in Dallas, Texas and beyond for over 40 years and offers an annual mainstage concert series at Moody Performance Hall, Meyerson Symphony Center, and other venues around the DFW metroplex. TCC also features smaller ensembles and each group delivers a unique performance that highlights the members’ wealth of talent.

While primarily a gay men’s chorus, the Turtle Creek Chorale welcomes all those who identify as male, regardless of sexual orientation.

The Gala Choruses Festival

What is Festival?
GALA Choruses signature event is our quadrennial Festival, which gathers LGBTQ+ choruses from all over North America and the world. Festival is five days of singing, connecting, and creating. It’s wall-to-wall concerts, workshops, social events, joy and pride. It’s the largest LGBTQ choral event in the world. It’s you with thousands of your peers taking over a city and filling it with song.

By the Numbers
GALA Choruses Festival will gather about 7,000 singers from 122 choruses this summer in Minneapolis. This is just a portion of the more than 15,000 singers and nearly 200 LGBTQ+ choruses in North America and beyond who make up GALA Choruses. Festival 2024 choirs will perform at world-class venues in downtown Minneapolis including Orchestra Hall, The Minneapolis Convention Center, and Central Lutheran Church. Festival 2016 in Denver, CO, gathered more than 6,000 singers in-person and more than 14,000 unique viewers online.

About these Queens

In 2017, the Sisters-in-Action -- a motley and magnificent gaggle of homosexuals who met while singing in the Turtle Creek Chorale -- banded together to create a super-troupe of amateur drag queens to raise money for various charities in North Texas. The sisters burst onto the scene with Marsha & Friends Drag Brunch and continue to shimmer in notorious and, at times, exclusive events, raising more than $215,000 to help the LGBTQ+ community. The Sisters-in-Action include Aida Lott, Alexa De La Cruz, Alicia Tried, Aunt Marge, Bea Dazzle, Betty SiSonnet, Claire Annette, DeManda Refund, Erika Odessa Dior, Ginni Beefeater, Ivanna SiSonnet, Lisa Condo, Marsha Dimes, Nippy Peakes, Shantaé Morgan, Stormy Weather, Thai Mai Shu, and Venus Envy.
