In this workshop, we will use the breath to journey within and face our fear in a compassionate manner, so that we may live fully.About this Event
Shamanic Breathwork: Compassionate Courage
Living fully requires courage. Finding courage means acknowledging the parts of us that are fearful, and choosing to be present and accepting of its teachings. Courage aids us in:
- being fully honest with our self and others,
- recognizing our true desires, dreams, and longings,
- obtaining clarity about our path and life’s purpose,
- choosing love in a world where fear has a loud voice,
- accepting our own worthiness,
- allowing us to know and be known,
- breaking old patterns and beliefs,
- being grounded and choosing how to move forward.
Join us in breathing into courage in safe and sacred community!
Through the breath and chakra-attuned music, you'll journey deep within yourself to find your courage and befriend the parts of yourself that need that courage. This form of breathwork, when done in a safe and protective container, takes you into an altered state where you can access your inner guidance and your innate healing mechanisms. We will share intentions, teach the breathing technique, "breathe until we are surprised", and integrate our journeys through sharing our journeys and art.
The event will include:
- Gathering in a circle with others who want to do their inner work. The group size is typically 5-10 people breathing. A maximum of twelve seats will be available for this workshop.
- Guidance and support from trained shamanic practitioners, Diamondheart (Jay Hoeffer) and Grounding Rock (Brian Thoman)
- Grounding, group agreements, and container building to create a safe space for sharing.
- Breathwork instruction and practice.
- Laying down and moving on a mat for about 45 minutes during the breathwork while specially selected music plays and facilitators coach, encourage and, if permission is given, use bodywork to expand your experience.
- Creating art to express your breathwork journey
- Sharing your experience with the group, and when permission is given, receive reflection, questions, and suggestions.
- Closing the circle with tips for aftercare and resources for continued support
- There will be an optional vegetarian potluck following the workshop, providing a chance to ground before going back out into the world and a chance to connect with the other participants and the facilitators.
While every breathwork is different, past participant experiences have included:
- states of love, bliss, joy and oneness
- release of repressed, stuck, or unfelt emotions
- moving through fear and pain
- expansion of the heart and capacity for love and joy
- forgiveness of self and others
- movement of stuck energy
- Cutting of cords/attachments
- inner child healing
- release and healing of ancestral or generational trauma
- Locating and reintegrating parts of the self that are lost or inaccessible
- connecting with spirit guides and their guidance
- rediscovering your mission, passions and direction in life
- letting go of what is holding you back from who you really are
- relaxation and stress reduction
- Shifting from feeling alien to feeling at home (in the body and on the planet)
- tending to your inner garden, exploring your inner landscape
In what ways would having better access to your courage help you live a more full life?
How many times have you "powered" (or numbed) through experiences by avoiding the fear you have been resisting?
Where would having more compassion for yourself me more in alignment with how you would like to be in the world?
This is a chance to transform in a way that will bring compassionate courage into your life.
