About this Event
🌈 Session Three: Romeo & Juliet (A Staged Reading Event)
For the final Mechanicals Summer Session, we’re queering the canon with an unapologetically bold Romeo & Juliet. Stripped down to 80 minutes of fierce feeling, forbidden love, and big balcony energy, this version celebrates all the messy, beautiful ways we risk everything for connection.
Directed by Brynne O’Rourke, this staged reading reimagines Shakespeare’s most iconic romance through a queer lens—where gender bends, binaries break, and love transcends the script.
Come dressed for drama, rebellion, and radical softness. We’re ending the summer with a bang.
🕗 Shakespeare from 8–10 PM.🎉 After-party to follow with music, dancing, and special guests.
