Tank and the Bangas
2020 GRAMMY nominees for Best New Artist and winners of the 2017 NPR Tiny Desk Contest, the explosive New Orleans band fires up the After Party with their dance-ready mix of funk, hip-hop, gospel, and traditional rhythms that could only have come from the Big Easy. Fronted by the electrifying vocalist Tarriona “Tank” Ball, the group has released five albums and two EPs including 2020’s Friend Goals.
Jesus Díaz Y Su QBA
The Cuban born, Bay Area based percussionist and singer is among the most versatile and accomplished artists on the world music scene, performing with his dance-heavy, dynamic ensemble QBA. Dedicated to a rollicking mix of traditional Cuban forms blended with funk, pop, and jazz, QBA brings an unforgettable night of groove and Cuban soul to the Joe Henderson Lab.
