On Tuesday, September 30th, we proudly present the Kev Choice Ensemble, debuting new music from The Highest Self project, with an opening performance by Elenah bringing their undeniably groovy latin pop reggae, with surprise guest that will bring the house down.
SF Sounds is a platform dedicated to supporting Black and Brown independent artists by creating high-quality live recording experiences that amplify their growth and visibility. More than just a show, it’s a movement for creative equity. Each performance is professionally recorded, leaving behind a lasting document that contributes both to the artist’s legacy and to the Bay Area music scene’s cultural heritage. Created and powered by The Ruth Williams Opera House, in collaboration with La Fauna Music, SF Sounds brings artists and audiences together in an intimate, inspiring environment.

✨ Kev Choice Ensemble
Pianist. Emcee. Producer. Bandleader. Sideman. Music historian. Kev Choice wears many hats, and all of them fit. An Oakland-based artist with prodigious talent and a Master’s degree in jazz, Kev Choice is redefining what it means to be a modern musician. Few can command both the classical piano and the microphone, but Kev Choice does it seamlessly — delivering 16-bar rhymes with the same mastery he brings to complex jazz arrangements.
With The Highest Self, Kev Choice continues his mission to elevate hip-hop and Black music, fusing beats and rhymes with a depth of musical nuance, cultural history, and lyrical consciousness rarely seen in today’s soundscape. His vision is clear: to create conscious hip-hop that speaks truth while resonating on a mainstream level. The result is music that uplifts, challenges, and moves.
🎤 Elenah
Opening the night is ELENAH, the genre-defying project of Los Angeles-born, Ecuadorian-American artist David Saenz. Based in San Francisco, ELENAH weaves reggae, Latin, Caribbean, and African rhythms into a vibrant sound that’s as heartfelt as it is danceable.
Since emerging in 2020, ELENAH has opened for global acts like Rawayana, Ozomatli, and Los Rakas, and toured California alongside Chilean reggae icon Quique Neira as both support act and backing band. With a new album on the horizon, ELENAH is stepping boldly into a new chapter, offering a joyful and fearless celebration of rhythm, love, and the healing power of music.
