Get ready to grow your imagination this summer! The Seward Community Library & Museum invites children, teens, and adults to join our “Plant a Seed, Read!” Summer Reading Program, a season-long celebration of stories, creativity, and community.
This year’s theme explores the journey from farm to table—reminding us that just as food nourishes our bodies, stories nourish our minds. Participants of all ages can track reading time, join hands-on activities, and earn fun prizes along the way.
Reading Goals
Ages 0–6: 12 hours
Ages 7–12: 20 hours
Ages 13–125: 24 hours

Enjoy a full lineup of free, interactive programs for all ages, including:
• Planter painting & seed planting
• Escape rooms & scavenger hunts
• Farm-themed imaginative play
• Junior Ranger walks at Exit Glacier
• Art workshops & cooking/food history programs
• Paws & Pages reading sessions at the Seward Animal Shelter
• Marine science activities with the Alaska SeaLife Center
• Nature-inspired art events
• A farm tour at Vachowski Farm
• Author talk & writing workshop with local author Sean Ulman
• Community Seedling Swap at the Branson Pavilion
