As the sun sets on Friday, June 5, join us at AIDS Garden Chicago for a candlelight vigil, a moment to honor those we have lost, and to stand together for the millions more at risk if healthcare funding is not restored. This vigil is part of Seven Days in June: HEALTH IS PRIMARY, a national, nonpartisan, grassroots campaign running June 1–7. Across the country, communities are demanding that 2026 candidates for federal and local office make a clear commitment to protecting healthcare access, biomedical research, and public health infrastructure.
The stakes are real. Congressional budget cuts to Medicaid, the CDC, and the NIH will cost over a million jobs, devastate local economies, and leave our most vulnerable neighbors — seniors, veterans, people with disabilities, working families — without the care they need.
We gather not just in grief, but in solidarity and resolve.
Bring a neighbor. Bring your voice.
This event is free and open to anyone with a belief that health is a human right and a governing responsibility.
Seven Days in June: HEALTH IS PRIMARY is a decentralized, nonpartisan campaign. Learn more at 7daysinjune.org.
