AHP cordially invites all fellow Haitians to the first of our Serenad Series featuring Performance-Comedy Night with : Papa Jean (Comedian/Actor/Writer/Storyteller/Filmmaker), on Friday, March 27th at Citadel Creole Cuisine, 11300 Fern St, Wheaton, MD 20902.
Our Serenad Series celebrates Haitian social-cultural expressions in its many facets including the power of laughter to keep us connected personally, professionally and communaly. This evening promises to be an entertaining and dynamic comedy moment to remember.
The comedic performance by Papa Jean—bringing humor rooted in culture, everyday life, and shared experiences—is to include an engaging exchange with the audience. Together, we’ll explore laughter as a tool for connection, reflection, and collective joy.
The evening concludes with networking (professionally and socially), social dancing and meaningful connections, creating space to connect, unwind, and celebrate community through comedy.
DJ Animation for the evening will feature music by the Late Legendary Coupe Cloue in connection with the evening's theme and staying true to the comedic flair he playfully and humorously showcased through his talent as a Celebrated Haitian Singer/Musician.
General Public Admission: $25 in advance, $35 at door
VIP Admission: $55 [includes 1 glass of house champagne , 1 order of side entree (akra, plantain or marinad]

About Papa Jean (Jean Lodescar Jr)
Actor, Writer, Comedian, Storyteller, Filmmaker
Papa Jean is a Haitian-American artist with a message. Widely known for his barrage of characters and sketches on social media, he is always packing a punch with his creativity.
Born in Brooklyn to Haitian parents and raised in Queens, Papa Jean has always used writing and acting to tell stories, expose truths, and, most importantly, inspire anyone who will listen. As an award-winning, Meisner-trained actor, Papa Jean has performed lead roles in plays like ‘A Raisin in the Sun’, ‘Antigone’, ‘Romeo and Juliet’, and also his own debut play, Les Boîtes Noires.
His resume also includes appearances on Emmy Award-winning TV shows like Law & Order: SVU, Godfather of Harlem, and Gravesend. He is currently working on his debut solo piece, Act1: And There I was. Where there are people ready for a change, Papa Jean is always ready to perform. He is driven by a passion for the stage and a genuine yearning to leave an uplifting mark on the lives of those who need it most: Comedy in its purest therapeutic form.
For Papa Jean every joke is an opportunity to reach new and eager audiences ready to listen to his story, move with laughter, and respond to his messages.
