Dragi prijatelji, Pozivamo vas da i ove godine podrzite Festival Evropskog Filma u Kalgariju (CEFF) i srpsku zajednicu koju ce ove godine na festivalu predstavljati najbolji srpski film iz 2023 - Cuvari formule.
Film "Cuvari formule" reditelja Dragana Bjelogrlica govori o istinitom dogadjaju iz 1958. godine, kada grupa naucnika sa Nuklearnog Instituta Vinca tokom tajnog projekta razvijanja reaktora, biva izlozena smrtonosnoj dozi radijacije. Drzavna tajna policija salje naucnike u Pariz na lecenje na kliniku Kiri, kod poznatog lekara Zorza Matea, koji predlaze da se prvi put u istoriji izvede transplantacija kostane srzi. Vise od 200 gradjana Francuske javlja se da ucestvuje u proceduri koja nikad ranije nije izvedena, i donira kostanu srz za nepoznate naucnike iz strane zemlje. Film je prica o ljudskoj humanosti, pozrtvovanosti i turbulentnoj istoriji tokom hladnoratovske podele sveta.
Projekcija filma ce se odrzati u sredu, 6. novembra 2024, u "Globe' teatru, na adresi: 617 - 8 Avenue SW, Calgary, AB T2P 1H1 sa pocetkom u 20:15. Vrata se otvaraju u 20:00.

Dear friends,
Thanks you for supporting the Calgary European Film Festival (CEFF) and the participation of Serbian community this year. Serbian community will be represented by the best Serbian film of 2023 - “Guardians of the Formula.”
The film “Guardians of the Formula,” directed by Dragan Bjelogrlić, is based on a true event from 1958. A group of scientists from the Vinča Nuclear Institute, working on a secret nuclear reactor development project, were exposed to a lethal dose of radiation. The secret police sent the scientists to Paris for treatment at the Curie Clinic, under the supervison of the renowned doctor Georges Mathé, who proposed the first-ever bone marrow transplant in history. Over 200 French citizens volunteered to participate in this unprecedented procedure, donating bone marrow for unknown scientists from a foreign country. The film tells a story of human kindness, dedication, and the turbulent history during the Cold War.
The film screening will take place on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the Globe Theatre, located at 617 - 8 Avenue SW, Calgary, AB T2P 1H1, starting at 8:15 PM. Doors open at 8:00 PM.
