Autumn Adventures: Personal Storytelling with Mixed Media
About this Event

Autumn Adventures: Personal Storytelling with Mixed Media

In this 2 hour art workshop, you’ll reflect on what autumn means to you and the

transition of seasons. Is it walking in the crisp air, enjoying ‘Pumpkin Spice’

treats, observing the changing of leaves or layering on a cozy sweater? Through

writing 1-3 personal sentences that inspire a starting point, participants will create

expressive or representational art by combining a variety of media that allow

them to bring storytelling into their artworks. Participants are also encouraged to

bring in nature elements such as leaves or twigs to explore using them (eg.

printmaking with a leaf or mark-making with a twig). Explore and combine

watercolour, acrylics, and collage. Create a work of art that welcomes in this

changing season.

This workshop is useful for:

- Well-being

- Engaging in the present moment

- Exploring creative experimentation

- Connecting in a communal space

- Thinking in visuals to aid storytelling through art

All required materials will be provided by CAMH on the day of the workshop.

Pre-registration is required as space is limited per group.

Open to all, no prior art experience necessary.

She’s had experience teaching art to youth in a classroom setting and teaching online art courses with Workman Arts. She is a Fellow of the CAMH Yale Let(s) Lead program and a longtime Workman Arts member. She’s completed CAMHs Collaborative Learning College peer support and facilitation training courses and peer support training with the Mood Disorders Society of Canada.
