The Grand Rapids Public Museum (GRPM) is proud to welcome visitors to Sensory Sundays, an initiative designed to support visitors on the autism spectrum and individuals with other sensory processing needs.What sensory accommodations can visitors expect?
Adjusted sound and lighting within current exhibits.
A low-sensory planetarium show at Chaffee Planetarium.
Sensory bags that include fidget tools, noise-canceling headphones, and more, which are available for check-out every day at the front desk of the GRPM in partnership with KultureCity.
Additional quiet spaces for visitors who need a break from sensory input, another accommodation we offer daily at the GRPM.
When are Sensory Sundays?
Sensory Sundays take place on the second Sunday of each month in 2026 and run from the Museum’s open to close, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
