About this Event
Senna-Marie Trio Live in London
Join us for an evening of music with Johannesburg-based songwriter Senna-Marie: a fusion of playful rhythms, dreamy melodies and thoughtful lyricism, recalling the warmth of ‘70s folk with art-pop curiosity and jazz sensibilities.
Having previously performed at London’s Half Moon Putney, Senna-Marie returns to the UK for an intimate trio performance at MAP Studio Café. Performing alongside Ryan Schultze (piano & voice) and Nicholas Bjorkman (drums), the trio will share songs from across their collection - including previews from their upcoming album All of the Ants and selections from Ryan’s debut EP Insides Out. The set also features , Senna-Marie’s recent single inspired by the Antarctic sea-ice research of South African scientist Dr Tokoloho Rampai.
Senna-Marie's songs sit within necessary frictions: the balance between control and surrender, intimacy and conflict. The night is both an invitation and an invocation: to keep feeling and to share in the vulnerability that comes with that - all the while holding the groove at the core, with space for minds to drift and feet to tap!
