About this Event
As the 2026 Senedd election approaches, we are taking the fight for our rivers and seas directly to the heart of Welsh democracy! We would love for you to join us on Tuesday 24th February to make sure the next Welsh Government puts ending sewage and plastic pollution at the top of their agenda.
10:45-11:45 Million Mile Clean. We’ll meet at the Senedd steps, before litter picking our way through the streets of Cardiff and along the Taff path together! We’re inviting Members of the Senedd (MSs) to join us along the route so they can see firsthand some of the pollution in their local environment.
11:45-12:45 A quick picture, and manifesto handover. We will gather back at the Senedd steps for a picture together, dressed as water users! Then, we’ll hand over the Surfers Against Sewage Senedd Manifesto to Members of the Senedd. Please feel free to bring any letters, art or messages that you would like to share too.
To dress as a water user, please bring whatever represents how you use the water, if you’re able to. This might be a wetsuit, life jacket, board, goggles, or a paddle. Whether you can come by for the whole thing, or just briefly, we hope to see you there!
We hope this will be a chance for a fun community event as the election excitement builds, and a chance to engage directly with decision-makers to implore them to protect the seas, lakes, and rivers they love!
