About this Event
The Practical Self Defense Workshop starts from first awareness prevention and progresses all the way to point of contact, teaching you simple but effective defense techniques every step of the way.
In this 3-hour workshop you will learn:
- How your biological self defense system signals danger
- How to tell the difference between intuition and paranoia
- What a fighting stance actually looks like and what it's for
- Self defense techniques for grabs, pins, chokes and defending against groups
- The best way to use every day items to defend yourself
Pretty Deadly is for people who aren't looking for drama, scary stories or complicated self defense moves, but want a few reliable, effective techniques that are easy to learn and easy to remember so they can just get on with their day. We work with every body type and ability level to help keep you feeling strong, confident and safe.
Pretty Deadly Self Defense is a women's self defense training and instructor certification program* designed by women to deliver trauma-informed, inclusive self defense that addresses the things women actually face, designed for the way women actually learn, and that's actually fun. Why We're Different
This episode of the Pretty Deadly podcast addresses a common misconception in self defense: that hitting specific targets, pressure points and even the groin are even possible in real life situations.
