About this Event
Join us for a unique, reflective reading workshop focused on cultivating self-compassion through the power of poetry. In this gentle, guided session, we’ll explore how slowing down and engaging with meaningful texts can help us develop a kinder, more understanding relationship with ourselves.
During the workshop, we’ll reflect on two beautiful and thought-provoking poems:
- “Wild Geese” by Mary Oliver, which invites us to let go of the pressures of perfection and embrace our natural place in the world.
- “Love After Love” by Derek Walcott, which gently guides us toward reconnecting with and loving our true selves.
Through reflective reading exercises, journaling, and open discussion, you’ll have the opportunity to explore these themes in a supportive, non-judgmental space. Whether you’re new to self-compassion or looking to deepen your practice, this workshop offers a meaningful way to pause, reflect, and connect with yourself.
What to Expect:
- An introduction to the concept of self-compassion and how reflective reading can help nurture it.
- A guided reading of two carefully selected poems.
- Reflective journaling exercises to explore your own journey toward self-compassion.
- Group discussion to share insights and experiences (participation optional).
This is a relaxed and welcoming space for everyone—no prior experience with reflective reading is necessary.
