Join us Saturday, June 8. 10am-12pm, for monthly meetup for 2024 at Realign & Flow Massage and Wellness . Westboro, Ottawa.

We will learn and practice BODY SCAN MEDITATION. Which means we on-purpose: slow down, press pause, and check-in with our bodies and breath…to arrive and deeply appreciate present moment.
We gather with intention to put down the to-do lists of: more errands, more work, more plans, more screentime, more external distractions..to take a moment to SLOW DOWN and simply BE. Exactly as we are in the present moment, no matter what. While body scan meditation is a wonderful self-care-tool to practice independent from groups, we gather this Saturday to practice this modality as a group, to remember we are not alone in this process of self-discovery/self-development through life.
The time of the 'lone-wolf' is over. And while we navigate our own 'stuff' within our own arenas, it is important to remember that we are never meant to take on this living experience alone. During our quiet times and also during our celebrations, we need each other.
Remembering the magic of who we really are at our core, happens best when we take the time to slow down and listen to our body, our energy, our emotions..and *breathe.
You are already whole and complete exactly as you are. You are Perfectly Imperfectly Perfect with zero effort required. At every moment, no matter what.
Join us in calm, safe community space where like-minded people: warriors in their own arena of self-care, gather to learn & practice healing together. 💚

What to expect June 8:
We will:
💚Begin with sharing Cacao as a warm heart-opening beverage together.
💚Enjoy a brief group check-in together.
💚Practice some supportive journal prompts as we welcome Spring season.
💚Learn and Practice BODY SCAN MEDITATION, guided by your host and facilitator, Alex Schettler. (30-45mins-ish)
💚Close circle with grounding practice.
💚receive small gift to take home as keepsake, together with learned skills to offer yourself your own Body Scan Meditation for lifelong resourcing.
👣open to men, women, all genders-identifying, all ages.

🌀What is Body Scan Meditation?
Body Scan Meditation is a mindfulness meditation based on Buddhist practice of mindful breathing. Jon Kabat-Zinn, an American psychologist has taken his own learnings from his Buddhist teachers, together with the science he learned while becoming a psychologist to then create a program known as Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to help people cope with stress, anxiety, pain, and illness. Body Scan Meditation is a simple and insightful exercise where we can practice slowing down to pay attention to our breath, and body awareness as it exists in any moment.

✨Your Facilitator, Alexandra Schettler:
Alex is a Registered Massage Therapist and Owner/Operator of Realign and Flow Massage and Wellness based in Ottawa, Canada.
As a Registered Massage Therapist and Energy facilitator of over 14years, (-and previous to becoming a RMT was a professional Contemporary Dancer and dance teacher in Winnipeg, MB), Alex has spent many years learning about and practicing self-care and healing modalities/energy practices to help facilitate healthy balance for the physical and energetic realms of this relatively short human experience.
Her experience as an RMT working full-time for 14+ years in Ontario, she undeniably notices on a regular basis, the direct connection of; how people feel in their physical and energy bodies, to how they feel in their minds and emotions. She witnesses how all parts of ourselves (body/mind/spirit) directly and inversely is connected and without any doubt, affects each parts of us. We are all so inter-connected within ourselves. Then, with a birds-eye-lens, it’s amazing to witness how deeply connected we are to each other, without necessarily knowing it. These observations, make her work at Realign & Flow so enjoyable, fulfilling and inspiring. After some years as an RMT, together with her Yoga teacher training, it made sense to open up safe community space for yoga classes, meditation gatherings, self-care retreats as of 2018, and most recently as of 2023, Self-Care Saturday monthly meetups have become an organic development at Realign & Flow studio. Community-building has been about gathering together to learn and share healthy resourcing, and self-care tools together. As a means of connection, and removing the potentially isolating feeling that sometimes comes with practicing self-care and self-development.
