About this Event
Get ready to swing into your Saturday with an unforgettable afternoon of big band jazz, outrageous energy, and iconic tunes—presented by Angela O’Neill & the Outrageous8, now celebrating 10 years of swingin’!
This month’s Second Saturday Jazz brings a dynamic vocal pairing to the stage as Al Timss and Mary Bogue join forces for an afternoon of timeless style and soulful storytelling.
A lifelong musician, Al Timss began his journey studying classical piano before moving into the vibrant worlds of rock, folk, and jazz. From his early days with The Village Moose to his American Songbook release Last Call, Al’s versatility and warmth have made him a natural fit with Angela O’Neill and the Outrageous8, where his smooth vocals and classic sensibility shine.
Sharing the spotlight is the electrifying Mary Bogue, a powerhouse vocalist whose voice has earned praise from legends like Les McCann and Barbara Morrison. With a style rooted in jazz, blues, and Motown, Mary channels the spirit of the great “red-hot mamas” of another era—effortlessly moving from smoky, intimate ballads to bold, brassy showstoppers. Her performances are equal parts heart, grit, and glamour, shaped by a life that’s given her plenty of stories to tell.
The Outrageous8 features an all-star lineup of LA’s top musicians, including custom arrangements by Harry Smallenburg and Rocky Davis, and music direction by Sam Morgan, son of touring legend David Morgan (Three Dog Night). From Grammy-winning sidemen to jazz veterans who’ve played with The Rolling Stones, Cher, and the Honeydrippers—this group brings heat, history, and serious chops to the stage.
Angela O’Neill, a UCLA Theater Arts alum and former classical oboist, has produced hundreds of shows with The Outrageous8. A versatile performer, she’s sung jazz, country, and rock, and currently sings with multiple 18-piece big bands. Angela is also the driving force behind Outrageous8 Records, which she launched five years ago, producing six albums for the band and additional projects for bandmates Paul Litteral and Ron Cyger.
Please note that there is a $35 food and beverage minimum at the venue on the day of the event.
