Seattle Catrina Cultural Celebration ⚽As Mexico opens the World Cup against South Africa, our community in Seattle will come together to show that, even far from home, our culture, pride, and presence remain strong.
Before the opening match, a cultural procession of Catrinas and Catrines will take place at Seattle Center — bringing together artists, community leaders, creatives, and members of the Mexican community in a symbolic act of representation and unity.
Through the image of La Catrina, one of the most recognized symbols of Mexican identity, we aim to honor our roots while sharing our culture with visitors from around the world during this historic moment in football.
What you can expect:
• A cultural procession prior to the opening match
• Catrinas and Catrines representing Mexican heritage and identity
• Community leaders, artists, and cultural figures showing presence and support
• Traditional attire, floral crowns, artistic makeup, and symbolic elements
• An atmosphere of pride, culture, photography, and celebration
• Football-inspired details such as jerseys, flags, and national colors
Participant capacity is now nearly full.
Limited availability may remain for makeup artists and select collaborators.
