About this Event
We want to steward and restore Oban's very own seagrass meadow. And to do that, we need more people to join us in taking a gander and gathering together around the sea.
Seaweed Gardens, Adventure Oban and Wild Bathing are gathering willing volunteers for a seagrass meadow snorkel and reccy.
The site has already been assessed for restoration trials by Seawilding and seagrass tasks are coming up soon (bookmark the 6th June).
On Saturday the 16th May, we'll go in two groups for short 30 minute snorkels.
Volunteers should provide their own kit and have a confident level of swimming and snorkelling. If you need to discuss or check kit with someone, let us know and we'll be in touch.
(Note - please don't bring full face snorkel masks as there are issues around safety for these masks.)
You can travel to Ganavan by regular bus from Oban. Check West Coast Motors. There is also a large car park. If you have any accessability needs we should know about, please get in touch at [email protected]
