Seafest Weekend at the Yard – with a Historic Twist!
Join us for a weekend of seaside fun and discovery, celebrating the site’s heritage during its 200th anniversary. Expect a full programme of family-friendly activities, entertainment, and heritage highlights.

Visitors can expect a packed programme of events and activities, including:
- Family Zone, featuring children’s crafts, face painting and Ship’s - Biscuit making
- Seafest Hide and Seek
- Marine magic: Crawl into the belly of an enormous inflatable Sperm Whale to discover a marvellous marine tale
- Pop up stands, including Meet the Marine Park and South West Coast Path, as well as family-friendly food and drink stalls
- Interactive Geo Trail
- Guided history trails
- Discounted paddle board sessions with South West SUP
- Quiz night at Steel Brew

🖼️ 200 Exhibition – Opens Seafest Weekend
Step into the past with the 200 Exhibition at Melville Corner, showcasing two centuries of Royal William Yard’s history.
Discover original artefacts, documents, photos, and art from The National Archives, Devonport Naval Heritage Centre, Plymouth Proprietary Library, and more. Open until 28 September.
